Small Projects Foundation

Since 2012, CCELAT has been working with the Small Projects Foundation to support and build the capacity of eight dedicated community-based organisations addressing health and social crises in the Eastern Cape. Their work was focused on the prevention of mother-to-child HIV transmission and care of orphans and vulnerable children. Over the 3 year period, the work of these organisations saw 28,000 pregnant women tested for HIV, 5,320 of whom were put onto ARV treatment. 93% of the babies born from these mothers were born HIV negative, and more than 2000 orphaned and vulnerable children have received vital care and support.
